Meon Valley Runners run together three times each week, with a forth speed session avaliable on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. We meet up at different locations depending on they day;
Our Monday, Tuesday and Thursday sessions, are the most sociable sessions and are the perfect sessions for anyone to join as they cater for runners of all abilities, ensuring that our runs are ‘for everyone’.
These sociable sessions vary with distance, duration, intensity and terrain each week, to ensure you become the best all-around runner you can be. The sociable runs, typically last for roughly 5 miles. They do include regular quick stops, where you can take on water or to take a photo of the beautiful scenery.
Our fortnightly speed session at Swanmore changes weekly but focus’ on developing your aerobic base. We try to incorporate all runners’ abilities and goals in to our speed session, but the majority of the sessions will include a light warm up jog where you will be chat will all of the other runners, then some high intensity work, followed by a gentle cool down and some form work. Our aim is to pair people up, so that runners run in a friendly but competitive environment, as this is the environment we feel develops people the best.
The Swanmore running track is a ~500m track that's paved using fine stone, so road shoes are the recommended shoe. The Swanmore playing field also includes a 100m sprint track, which we use to develop our running form.
If there is any change to our running schedule, you can read about it here.
